Since 1951, Star Building Materials has sourced, manufactured, and supplied quality building materials to builders, developers, renovators, and homeowners. Our humble beginnings as a lumber yard in Calgary have evolved over 70 years into one of the area’s largest and most progressive building materials suppliers. It is our mission to innovate within the construction industry, exploring new methods to help you reduce waste, increase efficiency, and manage project costs.

We proudly operate two diverse facilities in Calgary, including our main operations site on Alyth Road, as well as a newly expanded distribution yard at our North Star location. Our facilities include two warehouse locations, a selection center, an engineered wood saw shop, truss plant, wall panel plant, door shop, logistics building, and our recently expanded distribution yard. From these facilities, we serve our clients with some of the most innovative building solutions available, including framing and finishing materials, engineered wood floor systems, trusses, drywall, insulation, and a wide selection of related supplies.
